Treatment of depression with magic mushrooms – effectiveness is proven

It is not surprising that in recent years the general interest in magic mushrooms has grown rapidly. Magic mushrooms, also called hallucinogenic mushrooms, mushrooms, or even “magic mushrooms”, can offer a fun and entertaining escape in our lives. Research shows that you should buy magic mushrooms online if you want to improve your mental health and well-being.

A review of studies in which conventional therapy was combined with the addition of a psychoactive component from “magic mushrooms” (psilocybin) found that it was not only a safe and effective way to treat conditions related to anxiety, depression, and drug addiction but also better than existing forms of treatment.

Depression is an emotional disorder accompanied by feelings of depression, hopelessness, and helplessness. The course of depression is associated with a low level of serotonin in the human brain. The results confirm the need to study the full effects of a psychedelic compound called psilocybin and develop a drug that shows promise in its ability to significantly improve the lives of those suffering from debilitating mental disorders.

The therapeutic potential of psilocybin

Psychedelics, such as lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and psilocybin, have a reputation as more club drugs than forms of treatment. But their similarity to neurotransmitters such as serotonin, and their ability to influence our perception and de-clutter our states of consciousness, have made them attractive candidates for the treatment of various psychiatric disorders. Studies have shown that patients with severe depression improved after taking small amounts of psilocybin along with conventional depression medications. There was also evidence that their brains strengthened connections between previously disconnected areas.

In the beginning, the subjects were given a trial dose of 10 mg, later the dose was increased to a therapeutic dose of 25 mg at weekly intervals. Already after a week, doctors noted a significant improvement in the condition of all patients, confirmed by survey data on the QIDS scale (Questionnaire for Rapid Assessment of Depression Symptoms). After three months of taking the drug, the symptoms of depression disappeared completely in 5 patients, and in others, the symptoms of the disease returned, but in a milder form.

Will psilocybin therapy be quick and safe?

Such results warrant attention, demonstrating the great potential of using serotonin agonists such as psilocybin to block problematic networks in the brain, and may be used to create more functional drugs. “Psilocybin therapy is safe. It may be a better option for many, especially those who have not responded to other drugs or procedures,” the report said.

“There is an important difference between this method and other session methods of treatment. It is that psilocybin–supported therapy requires only a few sessions, but the effect appears to last longer than other treatment options,” the California researchers wrote in their report.

This does not mean that the drug can be useful regardless of the form of the drug. Research on the therapeutic effect of psychoactive drugs is quite difficult due to ethical restrictions, but there is no convincing evidence to support the effectiveness of using psilocybin without other supportive drugs.

Implementation difficulties

A natural bias will have to be overcome before we see its full potential in drug form. Therefore, one of the reasons for careful testing of psilocybin is to establish evidence that challenges decades of a negative association with illegal and therefore harmful substances. In addition, the introduction of psilocybin into clinical practice will require the creation of a legal basis for its use, since this substance is currently prohibited for medical use.

The first known evidence of the use of hallucinogenic mushrooms in shamanic rituals was obtained during the study of rock paintings of the Mesolithic era in North Africa, which refers to the Kapsia culture of the 11th – 7th millennia BC. “Magic mushrooms’ ‘, belonging mainly to the genus Psilocybe, were most widely used in the cultures of the indigenous population of America. The Indians of the Maya, Aztec, and Matzate tribes used them for ritual purposes, as well as for clairvoyant and medicinal purposes.

How to prepare for a mushroom trip?

A look at psilocybin Psilocybin, the main psychedelic compound in magic mushrooms, binds to the serotonin receptor in the brain to produce what scientists call an “altered state of consciousness.” In these states, perception is distorted, the sense of time is diluted, and reality is experienced in a completely different way. Psilocybin can cause hallucinations and intense introspective experiences that can be classified into the realms of spirituality or mysticism.

These states can open your mind to ideas you might not have thought about in your so-called “normal” state of mind. Having this experience can be a healing and inspiring process for many people. Mushrooms can inspire feelings of awe and wonder and ultimately help us become wiser and more compassionate people. They can also open the door to beautiful and fun experiences that can change our perspective on reality and everyday life.

However, being under the influence of mushrooms can also lead to a “bad trip,” which often includes paranoia, anxiety, panic attacks, or a temporary loss of control over reality. In order to avoid unpleasant surprises, experienced mushroom pickers recommend following a few simple principles.

How long does the mushroom journey take?

From ingestion to descent (dispersal of the effects), the mushroom journey usually lasts from 4 to 6 hours. The first effects occur after about XNXX minutes, but it can be up to an hour depending on the dose and individual metabolism.

It is recommended to be patient and calm while you wait for the effects to occur, there is really no need to worry or take a second dose because you are sure you are at risk of taking too much and you are not. there is no option to stop the ride once your flight has started.

In the beginning, a slow rise hits you, after two or three hours the peak effects, such as “sensory peaks”, should follow. The duration of ingestion depends on the method of its use, we will understand and explain all this. The descent begins after “peaks”, usually 6 hours after taking. With scattered direct effects, you may experience dizziness, fatigue, or over-sensitivity to real-life stimuli. Hence the need to take mushrooms on a day when you are completely free of your daily restrictions. It is recommended that you take your mushrooms on a day when you can rest the next day.
